1. What does being European mean to you?

For me, it means feeling connected to a broader community that values human rights, democracy and cultural exchange. As an individual of both Finnish and Estonian descent, the combination of these two countries is particularly meaningful and broadens my view of European identity. In addition, it enables me to appreciate the distinct heritage and traditions of both nations.

2. What would you like to accomplish in the ERF in 2025?

As a new Council Member in the ERF, I want to meet and get to know as many Officers and Council Members as possible, both at conferences in different countries and virtually. I believe that getting to know people is the starting point for all activities in the ERF.

3. Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies?

If I think from a somewhat dull perspective, I would say that my true talent is my exceptional organisational and project management skills. On a more interesting note, I particularly enjoy fishing (even though there is far too little time for it). Although I wouldn't say I'm especially good at it, there is a certain charm in the fact that you never know exactly whether you'll catch a fish or not. Additionally, when fishing, the phone is silent and out of sight, which is a good change considering our profession.
